Virus - King Heroin, taken off their second and final album in 1971, called "Thoughts". Another German outfit, Virus originated in Bielefeld in the late sixties, drawing on influences from bands like Pink Floyd. Their excellent debut album, "Revelation", was also released in 1971, and this album featured a stunning version of the Stones' classic "Paint it Black". It was more psychedelic than the second album, which veered in a heavier, more progressive direction. Both albums are quite collectable and both have recently been re-issued on CD in stunning digipak format by Pandora's Box/Second Battle Records in Berlin, Germany, who have some of the rarest and best German progressive rock bands in their stable, not to mention access to tons of other amazing hard-to-find stufff.
