Sapo - Sapo's Montuno, taken off their one and only album, an excellent self-titled offering, released in 1974. Sapo were one of a number of great East LA bands doing the rounds at the death of the " Chicano" era. Vocalist Richard Bean, who'd guested with Malo on their debut album, formed the band in 1974, and featured the likes of percussionist Raul Rekow of Santana fame and Malo keyboard player Kincaid Miller. It's a great pity that no further albums were released by this band, as they were, alongside Tierra, El Chicano and the aforementioned Malo, one of the better Latin rock bands. Rumour has it that they've reformed, which will be good news for lovers of their type of percussion based latino rock.

Reviews of the bands albums will feature here..
