Alamo - 1971 - Alamo - 4/5

Alamo are a classic case of a band that had so much potential and promise, yet failed to do much other than release a really good album and then proceed to fade into obscurity, with copies of the album condemned to the deletions/bargain bin. A quartet, their album was jam packed with really neat keyboard and guitar based hard rock, not unlike Bloodrock and Blackhorse, and some very tasteful drumming and vocals. For the collectors amongst us who are into this kind of hard rock, it's good to know that the album has finally been released on the German Black Rose label.
